Machine Overview

What Is the JH-T3200 Hardfacing Machine?

The JH-T3200 is a column-and-boom welding manipulator designed for offline hardfacing and repair of large wear components.

Its main purpose is to accurately position and move the welding head relative to a stationary or rotating workpiece.

Instead of an operator manually supporting and moving a heavy welding torch for long welding cycles, the JH-T3200 provides controlled mechanical movement through:

When a rotary welding positioner is added, the workpiece can also rotate and tilt during welding.

This creates a coordinated hardfacing workstation where the welding manipulator controls the torch position, while the welding positioner controls the workpiece position and rotation. This configuration is particularly useful for rebuilding large grinding rollers and grinding tables in a controlled workshop environment.

Combined with an optional rotary/tilting welding positioner, the JH-T3200 becomes a complete offline hardfacing workstation.

Application Focus

Designed for VRM Grinding Roller & Table Repair

Vertical roller mills are widely used in cement, mining, power generation and mineral processing. Their grinding rollers and grinding tables continuously contact abrasive material under high pressure.

Over time, these components can experience:

Hardfacing allows the worn surface to be rebuilt with wear-resistant alloy rather than replacing the complete high-value component.

The JH-T3200 provides the mechanical platform required to position the welding torch accurately around large VRM components during offline repair.

VRM grinding components — grinding roller and grinding table surfaces rebuilt by controlled overlay welding.

Dedicated repair station — the JH-T3200 forms the central welding manipulator of a permanent workshop station.

Workshop-Based Repair

Offline Hardfacing Workstation

The JH-T3200 is primarily designed for offline hardfacing. The worn grinding roller or grinding table is removed from the production equipment and transferred to a dedicated repair workshop.

Compared with in-situ repair, offline hardfacing can provide greater flexibility for:

For factories with a dedicated maintenance workshop or specialized hardfacing service companies, the JH-T3200 can form the central welding manipulator of a permanent repair station.

Repair Workflow

Typical Grinding Roller Repair Process

A nine-stage offline hardfacing workflow, from inspection of the worn component through to the finished profile.

01

Inspect the Worn Component

Evaluate the condition of the component before any material is removed.

02

Surface Preparation

Remove damaged or unsuitable material. Depending on the repair procedure, this may include:

03

Mount the Workpiece

Place the grinding roller or other component on the welding positioner or suitable support fixture.

04

Position the Welding Torch

Use the JH-T3200 vertical and horizontal movement systems to position the welding head.

05

Set Welding Parameters

Configure the welding procedure before starting the overlay.

06

Start Hardfacing

The positioner rotates the workpiece while the welding manipulator maintains the required torch position and travel.

07

Build the Required Overlay

Additional welding passes or layers are applied according to the repair specification.

08

Inspect the Profile

Measure the rebuilt surface and compare it with the required final dimensions.

09

Finish the Repair

Perform additional welding, grinding or machining where required.

Optional Equipment

Optional 5-Ton Welding Positioner

Convert the JH-T3200 into a complete hardfacing workstation. For grinding rollers, grinding tables and other rotary workpieces, the JH-T3200 can be combined with a JH-5TDS 5-ton welding positioner.

The positioner provides two major functions:

Combining the JH-T3200 welding manipulator and the 5T positioner allows the welding torch and workpiece to be positioned independently. This provides greater flexibility for hardfacing:
